Westhampton Beach NY Yellow Pages

Westhampton Beach is a community within the town of Southampton. Westhampton Beach was the first Hampton to start renting out rooms and is considered by many to be the original Hampton. The Long Island Railroad brought visitors. With the addition of available lodging, tourism quickly replaced whaling and maritime activities as the central industry in the Hamptons. Rogers and Lashley Beaches are the largest attractions for visitors, but the many shops, fine restaurants and activities draw visitors as well.

Despite its reputation as a tourist destination, Westhampton Beach has a solid residential community with excellent schools and the Westhampton Beach Performing Arts Center for the community. Westhampton Beach is also one of the fastest growing communities on the eastern side of Long Island. Lodging in Westhampton Beach is largely in single-family homes, although there are several condominium complexes throughout the village.
